Will need quite a bit more information dates, locations, etc. Please also take some time to introduce yourself in the New Members Forum. A simple post telling a little about yourself is all that is needed (Branch of Service, dates of service, current status, MOS, etc).

Even though you had terminal leave, your DD 214 would have been issued or sent to you after your ETS. If you were awarded a medal for service, (i.e. Army Achievement Medal or Army Commendation Medal) it would be listed on your DD 214. It is possible to have gotten a plaque or a commendation letter as a "Thank You" from your unit, but you may not have completed enough to receive a medal for meritorious service.

If you can attach a picture of the plaque, it may be helpful.

If you feel you were awarded a medal but never received it, you will need to get in touch with former members of your unit and start investigating.

About a year ago, after several years of urging by other veterans, I went online and filled out a form for an updated (corrected?) DD214. I forgot all about it until several months later a package came in the mail with a new DD214. It had a couple of medals listed that I didn't know I had received. A few weeks later came another package with all of the medals and ribbons that were listed on the revised Dd214.

I can't remember what the site was, but was really happy with the results. Maybe someone here has that link and this fellow can take advantage of it.

I appreciate the help, ive been doing a lot of research, and it was stated that the certificate was just an appeciation award,it would have came from my local(company or batallion),after more recearch,it stated that to get the medal itself, that it would have to come from Division command, and it was signed by a Major General..all the pieces are coming together accept for the DD214,recearched it also, and came up with several cases of the medal not being on The DD 214,I will try and get a picture and post it,and thanks again for the help ,its most appreciated
