I've been searching online for a couple hours now of a possible list of former US. Navy Seals. There is a person I know who boasts about being a former Navy Seal and it strikes me as he's lying about being a SEAL and I was wanting to look up to see if I could find out if he is telling the truth.

For obvious reasons, you won't find a list names of past or present members of the SpecOps community. That being said, there are internet sites out there that are frequented by legitiment members of the community and could help get the answer you seek.

A very active community. And they hate posers. Especially those that claim SpeOps credentials. Provide them the information and they can vet the individual.

To help them out, if you can provide the following information
BUD/S class number (something the is never forgotten from what I hear)
Team assignment claimed (a hint, if he claims SEAL Team 6, be very suspicious as most posers claim that team for some reason)

"Frog" is a member of this site and you may want to shoot him an PM. He is one of those that do the verification of SEALs on SOCNET. Have your ducks in a row and the reason why you suspect that he is a poser.

Good advice that should be heeded. There are 4 authenticators on SOCNet, all of whom are very busy men. They don't appreciate (or tolerate) someone asking them if Joe Blow was a SEAL just to satisfy one's curiosity.

Correct spelling of their name is a must, along with their BUD/S class. Additional information such as age, Team Number(s), deployments, service dates, etc. is helpful.

If you join SOCNet, make sure your first post is an introduction in the introduction/new members thread and read the stickies before posting your question - you won't get an answer without the introduction and you'll be reprimanded for not reading and following the rules.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I'm not looking for verification just cause, it has to do with the way he talks about it. But I'll make sure to get some more information from him that you recommended, thanks for everything!

If and when you do get on active duty. I would appreciate seeing your NDSM take up your entire sig block.
