I just got back from my homecoming game. We won 40-0. I did a Drill solo today at our homecoming pep rally (I did real good, got a couple of girls Phone numbers :D). It has been a good year so far, only thing that would make it better is getting the HUD. Has anbody had their inspection yet?

No inspection yet, but I too have just gotten back from my homecoming and we did a huge Color Guard before the game. We had 6 exhibition rifles, 4 exhibition sabers, 6 flags, and 1 huge 25ftx50ft(about) American Flag. We pulled the whole thing off flawlessly, except for a couple of people getting off step.

That sounds awesome! How was it laid out? Did you have 6 flags in the middle, 3 rifles on both sides, and 2 sabers on both sides? That would be a HUGE CG. But I'm not sure how that would work lol. What flags did you have? and did the commander carry the massive American Flag in a harness or what?
Drill for Life: Well done my man. Our homecoming hasn't come up yet, its actually the last game of the season, and I'm trying to think of what we are going to be doing.

Flyboy that sounds real fun, the biggest Color Guard we ever had was yesterday. Three flags (American, Georgia, and Army), two rifles (me and our Sergeant Major) and a Saber (our Color Guard commander). It was cool. Our marching band leader wanted me to do a Drill Solo at the halftime show with the drumline and the dancing girls. I couldn't because my 1SG wasn't going to be there to put my rifle away. The band leader also wants us to create a routine and do it during halftime, I think it's called rifle unit?

We had the 6 flags, 2 rifles, and 2 sabers as the main color guard with the others forming an upside down V opening towards the stands. The huge flag was behind the main color guard. The giant flag was carried by about 20 people from our Field Ops team. The 6 flags were the American, Oklahoma, POW/MIA, Air Force, JROTC, and our school flag.
Drill for Life, that sounds awesome. I wish we could do a halftime show with our band.

On football games:
I watch the Color Guard and my school's Saber Team all the time... they're pretty awesome. Too bad the drill team (which I'm on) can't do a show.
Had mine last year.
Knowledge board was a suprise... super easy. We discussed taco bell in Mexico.
Somehow, my unit got the HUD, but, I'm proud of it.

I remember participating in Homecoming's halftime show when I was a cadet. Each year, the Homecoming court would ride around the track in convertables starting on the home side and stopping at the 50 on the visitor's side. From there, they'd walk down the 50 yard line between all the pageantry going on. The band was split on both sides of the 50, the band's color guard (the females who spun the flags) would do their routine lining the 50, and as the couples on the court got down the field, my JROTC unit had a 6-person saber guard lined up to do arches as they finished the walk. Watching it, it looked pretty awesome. Participating was even better, except for the hoarse voice I had after because of calling the commands.

At our homecoming, we have 6 rifles escort the King and Queen, 1st and 2nd attendants down from the edge of the field to the 50 yd line, where they go through an arch of sabers into the stands.

I remember at our rivalry game last year we had a colorguard of the U.S., Texas, Air Force, POW, two guards, and one commander in the back. It was a great colorguard and we looked awesome on the field's big screen.

Ok that makes way more sense than how I was imagining it lol. I wish my unit had the people for something like that... Oh well, you work with what you got.
