Well Done Cadet! This is an accomplishment to be PROUD of! This is an Award that people take notice of and that means something to more than just the recipient.
Very VERY Proud of you!

Wow! That's fantastic! Isn't it something like only 0.05% of the entire CAP enrollment has ever held that award? That's great! I know this took years of hard work, determination, and skill in all aspects of CAP, community, and maybe even country.

If you had READ the article, it states 1%. In most of these advanced awards, time and energy takes it toll on the numbers. Other factors like School and Sports come into play. It takes someone with dedication and the will power to achieve these Awards and that is one of the many things that make it a special Award.

In some places it references .5% and others 1% depending on where you look and when you recieved the award. Your both right.

Cadet, you have accomplished something that you should be very proud of. The Spaatz Award is a very difficult award that requires personal motivation and determination.
Besides the Spaatz Award though I must compliment you on your other achievements listed, a cadet being both an AOBD and a GBD is very impressive.
Congratulations on your latest achievement and I'm sure it won't be your last. Keep up the great work and keep pressing on.
You have my congratulations, I'm proud of you.

As you were 1SGT.
The CAP stats have Spaatz winners listed as .05%....not 1%. I don't find it appropriate berating someone young enough to be in JROTC because of a discrepancy like that.

Good job cadet.
Taken right from the article:
The Spaatz award is the highest honor a CAP cadet can achieve, with less than 1 percent of all cadets receiving the award.
1st ID Veteran, why don't you hop over to the New Members Forum and post and introduction.

I don't find it appropriate that a newcomer bust in here flappin their jaws without even the decency of an intro post. BTW, I'm Pingjocky, and who are you?

I am 1st_ID_Veteran.
I was in CAP back in the day, hence why posting here. Here is my intro post.
So, Ping Jockey, were you in Civil Air Patrol? If not I dont find that this thread necessarily involves you, to be blunt. Hop back ship board.

The only issue I took was the fact that ANG1SGT quoted 1% and then emphasized READ. I found it inappropriate, much like having a Seamen try to cop an attitude in a thread.

I would really like to know where you get off telling a Retired First Sergeant to Stand down on a thread that is over a month old. You then tell a fellow service member to hop aboard ship in a condescending way. All of 28 years old. Wow! I'm impressed! I had 24 years in UNIFORM my dear 1st ID. I think you need to check your attitude and understand that you are not God's Gift to the Military.

Good to see the fire is still in an old timer. I dont purport to be God's gift to the military 1stSgt. But one thing I learned from the military is accuracy and attention to detail. As per the stats of the CAP Spaatz award .05% is an accurate figure. As for your uniform being 24 years old, thats impressive. It was my intention to be a mustang and Retire as you did, sadly due to injury that wont be an option.

At ease, Soldier!
There is no need for you to come in here busting down walls and arguing with those whom have been around for a minute. I suggest you take a minute, introduce yourself in the proper forum, and not be so argumentative.
If you're like this on a military forum, I can only wonder what your CoC thought of you while deployed...

Actually, I don't know $hit about CAP...I was not speaking towards a CAP topic. I was insinuating that a "veteran" full of pi$$ and vinegar who has the balls to challenge a First Shirt would at the least follow the rules of the Forum that he voluntarily joined. As a founding member of Grunts, I'll post wherever the fvck I want, thanks. As to hopping back about "ship," look at my sig, jack-a$$...I don't serve on "ships." How's that for "attention to detail and accuracy" (Your words not mine) for you?
You don't like it here, go the fvck away...you won't be missed.

Hey Ping,
you should relax get a back massage. You sound awfully tense. That insecurity because this is the only action you are getting, being in the Navy? As far as "ship" if its on water, its a ship. You want to call it a vessel, sub, pontoon, call it that. No one really cares.

Alright that's enough, I'm locking this thread. 1ID if you got an issue with any of us "pogues", either take it to a private message or leave since there aren't enough "hardcore combat arms grunts that frequent this forum".
