I am enlisted in the US Marine Corps as of 1830 last night. There where at least a hundred civilians who had passed the Physical but who where waiting to swear into the Armed Forces (Marine Corps). I have a 4 year contract, and a ship date, 20100615(June 15th 2010). My three MOS choices are:
0311:Rifleman
8152:Marine Corps Security Forces
0313:LAV Crewman
Also have guaranteed E-2 (Private First Class) out of Recruit Training.

Good for you Drill...train up, train hard, and do us proud.
By the way, what MOS are you hoping for?

Oh I eventually want to be 0321(Force Recon) but my GT score wasn't high enough to get a UZ Enlistment option (guaranteed Force REcon Indoc if you meet qualifications at MCRD) so I guess I will just take the Indoc at SOI. Poolee's pick three MOS choices so if you don't get one of them you will get one of the other two. Trust me I already train and work hard, know its time to study hard.
Best of luck and it will be neat watching as you move from Poolee to Recruit to Marine!
Congratulations! I'm very proud of you. :flag:

Thank you mam. You have a very special connection to the US Marine Corps!!! What did you think when your child told you that they wanted to join the US Marine Corps?

Congrats DFL on the reinstatement of status! My shipping day has yet to be determined, but probably will be around yours, too bad I'm not going to be a Marine lol. :D

I was all for it and so very proud. How is your Mom holding up? I hope both
of your parents are being supportive. If they seem a little hesitant to embrace
the idea, give them time. Once they know you are committed and they see
the positive changes this is going to make in you, especially after boot camp,
I'm sure they will be behind you 110%.

Hey - we are all just as proud of you going Air Force. You do know that while Marines tend to initially attract pretty girls....
it's the Air Force guy that can keep one long term. ;) They tend to be more stable. :D

This moment brought to you by your local friendly MEO office!
Keep in mind the whole respectful attitude deal. What may seem appropriate to you may not to others, and could be considered sexual harassment.
Wait 'til you get to basic and get to watch the high-speed video mini-series on it and sit through half a dozen briefings between BMT, Tech School, and FTAC.
It's a big deal in the Air Force, and messes up many a career.

Wanting to be a Marine hahahaha I'm going to be a Marine if its the last thing I do. I saw a couple of pretty Navy recruiters and some of the girls going into the Navy where pretty and there was this one Jamaican Marine recruiter. Hey I can;t help it I love Jamaicans, I don;t know what is it (maybe the accent).
