I'm in Civil Air Patrol about to get my Senior Airmen rank and i'm going to be a freshman starting this next school year i'm going to NJROTC boot camp this summer also sooo any pointers would help.... thanks.....

Anything in particular? I suppose the number one suggestion would be to do whatever you can to improve your time management skills. But without a specific topic or area of improvement, I'm not sure I can offer you much advice.

If you're going to be in NJROTC, why do you have the EGA as your avatar and your dogtags stating MCJROTC? The only initial advice that I'd give you is to keep your ears open and your mouth shut.

Too many cadets from other programs go on to new programs and think they know everything. I'm not saying you'll do this - just a word of caution. That, and since you'll be in both JROTC & CAP, actually keep them separate. Many cadets who participate in more than one Cadet program take bits and pieces of one program and try to use it in another. While that's perfectly acceptable for things such as leadership qualities and such, it's not for others.

Pretty much, I want to build a little on what Phoenix brought up.

Don't come in and act like you know everything. Just about every person here, who at one point or another was in JROTC, should have a story of a cadet coming from another cadet program or military family, acting like they know everything, and very quickly becoming the most hated (disliked might be nicer) cadet in the program.

Cadet C (I'll spare the full name) was that cadet for us, and as such, he wound up carrying less than C/E-5 his entire three years in program, no staff positions, and the instructors generally disregarded every one of his little comments and chimes in class or at activity.

Start from the ground up, and do things the way each specific program wants it done, unless you have solid proof that doing things another way will be beneficial.
