Cadets, the following rules apply in the Cadet Forums and will be strictly enforced by the Cadet Forum Adult Instructors and the Cadet Moderators. You will be interacting not only with other cadets, but several current and former service members. You, your program, and your school (if applicable) will be judged by how you present your self in these forums. You will therefore show all adult members the full respect due them as Veterans. Now, because we have to have them, here are the Rules of Engagement:
1. Keep your language clean as befits young ladies and gentlemen.
2. If you disagree with a poster, do not under any circumstances attack the poster. Refute their ideas, and back up your arguments with facts and reliable sources. (FYI; Wikipedia is generally not considered a reliable source. This because anyone can edit it and there is no review prior to edits posting.)
3. This is a discussion board primarily for United States military personnel and cadets of various United States military programs. Therefore the rules of the English language do apply and will be utilized. We, the staff, realize that nobody is perfect, however, we demand that honest effort is given. Preview and spell check are wonderful options available, so utilize them to their fullest. If you don’t have time to compose a coherent post, don’t post. Wait until you have time.
4. Since this is a discussion board that is what is expected. Discussion is more than “I agree.” It is the exchange of ideas. If you agree, state why.
5. You are permitted to upload your avatars subject to the following restrictions: You MAY NOT upload and use an avatar that is a representation of any Active Duty military badge, award, grade insignia no matter how cool it looks or how much you want one. Cadets that do, will be asked to remove the avatar. This request is NOT an option. The veteran members here have earned the right to wear those devices, usually through their blood, sweat, and tears.
6. Cadets MUST preface cadet grades with Cadet or C/. Those that have/are currently serving have earned the badges of rank that they display and have earned the title that goes along with that badge. You will see your post edited by one of the moderators, and they do occasionally get creative, to correct the discrepancy.
7. Everybody starts at the bottom and your cadet rank has no bearing. Your forum rank also has no bearing upon who is chosen to be a Cadet Moderator.
8. Cadet Moderators will be chosen by the Cadet Forum Adult Instructors with input from the Moderators, specifically ang1sgt (Top), though others may offer their input as well.
