The last time I was on the forum ( a while ago) there was a massive crackdown on posts that were only one line long. Is that still going to be prohibited here? Just wondering before I tick somebody off. Thanks!

Depends. If, you state and support your opinion/fact with one line, there is, generally speaking, no worry. The type of one-liner that, once again generally speaking, is tabooo, is the "I agree" type of response.

(I know, clear as mud.)

You usually find those types of posts in the Cadet section. The cadets right now seem to have a good handle on things. I'll keep an eye on it in there and let you know if things start getting hairy. But right now...the cadets are doing a great job of networking, helping each other out, its great.

Ok, thanks for the quick responses. I figured I'd be alright as long as I backed up what I said (and now that I'm a philosophy major, that's become second nature to me).

Yes, the original crackdown on "one-liners" was also (as I recall) in response to new members padding their post-counts to advance in forum "rank". This has been much less of an issue lately, but obviously we'll pull aside any repeat offenders and let them know that a single post with just a smilie won't cut it ;)

Alrighty,

So I think that this question has been answer more than effectively...

Shall we lock it or leave open for more potential discussion...your call I think, Billyd...
