I was wondering how a unit should be organized into a group when you have around 190- 230 cadets in your program.

My Unit (about the same size as yours):
1. Corps Commander
2. Deputy Commander
3. Deputy of Operations
4. Operations Support Squadron Commander
5. Services Squadron Commander
These people collectively form our senior staff, the "Top Five".
6. Corps Chaplain
7. Senior Enlisted Advisor/Command Chief
8. MWR Commander (who is technically directly under the Services Squadron Commander but is included in the 1-8 people.
The Executive Officer goes somewhere up there as well, but I do not know where.
So:
1. Corps Commander
2. Deputy Commander
3. Deputy of Operations
Color Guard Commander
Drill Team Commander
Model Rocketry Club Commander
Honor Guard Commander
4. Operations Support Squadron Commander
Information Management
Logistics Flight
Public Affairs Flight
Personnel Flight
5. Services Squadron
Physical Fitness Flight
MWR Flight
Computer Services Flight
Weather Flight
Kitty Hawk Air Society Flight
Recruiting
APT (now defunct)
Also directly under all of the Top Five are the Numbered Squadron Commanders, but who report directly to the Deputy Commander rather than going up from 5-3:
1. 221 Squadron Commander
A Flight (II)
B Flight (IV)
F Flight (I)
H Flight (I)
2. 222 Squadron Commander
D Flight (II)
C Flight (III)
G Flight (I)
I Flight (I)
Also we have the Special Advisors who report only to the CC and Deputy. They are the old CC and Deputy, who rescind their positions in early-middle May and advise the new ones until school ends in early June.

It depends on the needs of your unit, the type and amount of classes, AS year percentiles, your current structure, etc., we can give you a more personalized approach.

I disagree. Every unit needs some of the same basic staff positions, and I believe that the original poster can determine what he needs based on our suggestions.
He already told us how many people he has, and I am going to assume that about half the Unit is freshmen. His current structure is completely irrelavent if he wants a new one.
I am assuming he already knows how the structure of a Group works, so he can filter out what he doesn't want from what we have said, and tweak it around until it fits him

Sure, the same basic structure, but you want to know what basic actually means. For a group it means this: Group CC, Squadron CC's, Flight CC's, airmen. That's basic. Assume all you want about his corps, but that's what gets people in to trouble, an assumption based on the opinion of your own corps and current situation. I'll deal in facts and learn something a little more than a rough estimate of the total number of cadets.
Current situations are far from irrelevant when designing new structures, especially a major overhaul, which we do not know to be the case at the moment. When designing an organizational structure, you need something that fits your situation, to include what's going on right now, what needs to happen, and how you are going to do it. I've worked with organizational structures for a while now and have spent quite some time trying to find the exact need for my corps, as well as others on this board. I won't say it's all worked 100% for everyone, that just won't happen, but so far, I've done a decent job if I say so.
Organizational concepts, even with a program like JROTC can get very very heavy. I ask for more information because I don't like assuming things when people come for help, especially in situations where an entire corps may be affected by what is said. The key is adaptability. Still, I'd like to hear from the OP and see if I can't offer my aid.
