RULES OF THE POLITICS FORUM
READ AND HEED

This Forum is for discussion of any and all POLITICAL topics, but it is not, and will not be a sounding board for partisan political pandering.

If you wish to participate in conversations in this Forum, you will be required to comport yourself as a rational adult.

1) Be sure to be clear whether you are stating a FACT, or an OPINION.

a) If you are stating a FACT, you may be challenged on the validity of that "fact", and if you are, you are expected to present supporting evidence for your "fact". Be forewarned that known partisan hack groups, Forums, and Blogs will not be considered an acceptable "source" in support of assertions of "fact". Primary sources please.

b) If you are stating an OPINION, you may be challenged to support your opinion, and you are expected to provide reasonable support for your opinion ("that's just the way I feel" does NOT cut it), but you opinion does not trump facts and evidence.

2) Any article, or section or piece of an article, blog, or use of any other persons works are to properly cited and linked. Failure to do so may result in your post being summarily deleted.

3) Blatant slander, libel, or defamation of character of ANY political figure will not be tolerated, and no "charges" will be allowed unless those charges are either common knowledge, or have been proven in a court of law or impeachment proceeding.

4) The Administration and Moderators reserve the right to temporarily, or permanantly lock down, or even delete any threads that become "pissing contests", or that drift off topic.

5) Evolution, creationism, abortion, race relations, and other such non-political topics will NOT be tolerated unless they are specifically related to current politics, policies, Legislation, or cases before the Courts that are within the scope of the topic being discussed.

The Administration and Moderators reserve the Right to alter, change, and/or modify the rules of this Forum at their discretion.

Modification 1 (from the old forum): If you are posting a link, a video, or a copy of an article, bill, etc., please include a paragraph describing why you chose to post it, what your thoughts on it may be, or any other information you may deem 'pertinent'. Many of us are on the same email lists, and have already seen it. If you believe it worthy of discussion here, than begin such discussion. This, of course, applies to any sub-forum, but is particularly relevant here. Your cooperation is appreciated - and will be monitored.
