the iroquois influence

Hello, all - my husband has told me that there are some Constitutional scholars here - so I came here with my question. I would like to find out how much influence the Iroquois nation actually did have on the US Constitution. My research has brought up very differing opinions on what and how much influence the Iroquois had - can someone please clarify?

From my research, none. While there is no doubt that the people of NY and northern Pennsylvania, as well as a small number of the other FF's (like Jefferson) may have been aware of the Iroquois 'government', the records of the Federal Convention make no mention of the Iroquois. Even if the delegates from New York and Pennsylvania had been influenced, whether consciously or sub-consciously, they were a small portion of the entire delegations to the Convention, so I find such claims to be nothing but a case of inferrential historical revisionism.
