Best of luck in BMT and Tech School swampfox. Make sure you brush up on your Air Force Rank Structure a bit, but I'm sure you'll do fine. You should have internet access in Tech School, so hopefully we'll hear from you.

Two eyes, two ears, one mouth, keep the two former wide open at all times, the latter closed unless necessary, and you'll do just fine.

Naw, the 319th is for inprocessing/outprocessing, and guys getting tossed. Medhold, drug tests, questionable morals. Go 319th Limping Tigers!

Now, if you're not homosexual, crippled, or strung out, you want the 324th TRS. Best BMT squadron around, and the only one to max their ORI the first time through (back in '99, and yes, I was part of that (as a trainee.)) Regardless of which one you get assigned to, eyes open, mouth shut, and remember your reporting statement!

Haha yeah I know about the 319th. But you have to go with the 321st: Lead, follow, or get the hell outta the way!

I'll have to go with Ivan. I was a 324th trainee. All the MTI's were top notch. They had some of the toughest blues ropes I saw while I was there. Very good squadron. I was glad to be a part of it.

I think I might have a little bit more experience on this subject than most of you unless there is a T.I. floating around somewhere. I was stationed back at lackland after tech school. As a comm troop I had to re-wire all the Training Squadrons. Nearly every TRS is identical to the others. Some just did things differently. For example: I was re-wiring the 322nd aka candyland when i went outside for a smoke and saw some guy setting a tree on fire. It was just a small tree on the backside of the 320th aka Alcatraz. I asked the guys what was going on. They said they wanted the tree burnt black to make the building look more ominous. If I recall correctly the 321st aka hotel hell had no trees at the time. But they did have a nice view of the Mcdonalds off base so that made up for the lack of scenery.

My particular T.I. liked to crawl up the side of the building and sneak in windows he left unsecure. He would then dodge the firewatch and use his marker to draw slash marks across trainees necks. It was humorous in the morning as long as you didnt have a mark across your neck. I back talked him one night and ended up sleepy. When i awoke the next morning I had a suspicious "fist-sized" bruise on the left side of my face. That and I was still in the dayroom...on the ground....in my uniform.

But all that fun was weak sauce compared to Parris Island. There is a reason Marines are better and its starts from day one.
