I have been active in Civil War Reenacting for 4 years or so, and have done ww2 "werewulf" german partisan a couple of times, and simply out of curiosity, I want to know if anyone else on here is a reenactor of any time period.

I'm not a reenactor, but I played one once. While I lived in Virginia a personal friend of organizes and puts on a Revolutionary War battle reenactment for his town. He was short a few musketeers and other miscellaneous people so I filled in.
My part was over rather quickly as I was supposed to go down in the first few shots fired. It was fun, but forget wearing wool uniforms in the Virginian heat of July. What were those colonists thinking?

Yea, I did War Between the States (both sides), for about 15 years. Now do living history circa 1860-1870, but no battles anymore. Most of the living history I do is now done at the numerous frontier forts we have in Texas. I also still participate in ceremonies and the like as part of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. (That's a good way to use my old Confederate gear!)

I was a young private in Cutshaw's Battery, Jackson's Artillery, Army of Northern Virginia, and enjoyed great success until my tragic death at Burlington (West) Virginia. Damn Yankee run me through with his saber after we were overrun. I did manage to take a few more with my sidearm, and on with the trail spike of our field piece before my demise.

Like my buddy Lee above, I do gun fight re-enactments for the local communities here in West Texas. The most fun of them all is the bank robbery in Fort Davis on the 4th of July. (You will see me with two 1851 Confederate Navy's. I blaze away at the local constabulary and another gang as the two tries to hold up the same bank at the same time.)
Machine, I have a buddy in New Mexico who is a re-enactors for one of the two battles the happened in that territory during the War of Northern Aggression. He has a prosthetic, and when he's hit with a 3 pounder while standing in line, he falls and kicks his leg off. It's pretty graphic for low-tech!

John,
I used to do some reenactments over in New Mexico with my pards in Co. C, 4th Texas Volunteers. Don't remember seeing that guy take a hit and losing his leg. What outfit was he with?
There is a good reenactment the first weekend every May at La Cienega living history ranch just south of Santa Fe. They do the Battle of Glorieta Pass up there and it was always a good event. I miss not making that one any more.

I remember it being the battle of Glorieta Pass but other than that, it's been a few years. I think he played an Yankee getting hit with a three pounder.
