I finished my processing with my unit last Saturday. I'm in the 345th MI battalion at fort Gordon. It was a great experience meeting everyone and I can't wait to start drill next month.

That is what has happened to my friends. I had a friend who went to his unit(his was in the CHISE program) and he wore his C/2ndLt rank and they called him nickel. It wasn't bad it was just a little teasing the JROTC cadet. When the recruiters at my RSS saw me in my uniform they said I looked like the "Gay Pride" flag(because of my ribbons, get it:D) I laughed here is the NCOIC of the RSS yellign at me:
"Front lean and rest you little gay twerp"
"When I say down you say "I love me some"
"When I say up you say "Marine Men they are handsome"
I was so embarressed but I started laughing and they made me push until I stopped laughing. They where laughing so hard.

Yea, I would like to know where you got your information from, in my training unit at Ft. Benning, I was looked to for help on multipul occasions, and was respected for being JROTC, not once was I ever called a name, other than a nick name I recieved for a scar I have on my face. (Put two and two together). Also, in my unit their are a few Soldiers who are also ex JROTC, and none of us have ever been called nick names for being JROTC, and to the ROTC thing, as part of the Guard and more important an Infantry unit, we have whats called SMP Cadets, they are current ROTC cadets who are training for thier job (Ill let an ex or current SMP fill in for my lack of knowledge here), and as an Enlisted member, we have one who follows our PL and SL around at drill none stop, and no one has ever called them by anything other than LT.

I guess it is a Southern thing or maybe it is just the Soldiers at my friends unit.

Might be the fact I'm a little druged up on pain meds for my wisdom teeth, but what the heck is CHISE? Also, why the hell would he wear his JROTC rank im assuming was on an Army uniform, as that would be agaisnt regs, and if he was in my unit, I would smoke the living crap out of him.

Woah woah, you guys call an ROTC Cadet LT? That's just wrong, they haven't earned the title yet. We had a Cadet from the AF Academy shadow our DI's and we were specifically instructed not to call them LT.

I am not in the Army and am not and ever was interested(I am in AJROTC and man the Army recruiters sure know how to talk to kids) but I think it stand's for Currently Stilled Enrolled in High School. He wore his Class A's.

Really? Our 1SGT told us to call them LT, granted we don't salute or even stand at attention when we talk to them, All of them are PS, one of them was a E-7, and the other was an E-5 or E-6, can't remember off the top of my head. That might have something to do with it. Either that or he did it to not confuse the living heck outta a bunch of enlisted Infantry guys ;-)
and to Drill for Life, yea, if a Soldier showed up to an Drill in an Army uniform with his JROTC stuff on, I would rip that crap off his uniform so quick,

I don't want to offend you but you sound like a hypocrite. You where in JROTC and where proud to where to wear the uniform of your parent service(but you where thinking of the day you could be called a US Army soldier(for me a US Marine). Just rember after 2011 AJROTC will still wear the Class A(Pickle suit, christmas tree) and the US Army will wear the New Service Uniform.

The Current Army Dress Blues as I told you I am not in the Army and don't want to be. I have never worn them but will for the Cadet Ball.

To be honest, I hate the fact that JROTC wears the uniform of the Military, I personally think they should have completly different uniforms, I can't count how many times I have seen a JROTC kid tell someone they are Military, because they wear the uniform into a place to get food or shop, and get a discount, just because the Civilans working don't know the differance. In My unit when I was the Corp Commander (AF unit) I made so many rules regarding uniform wear in public, I was proud to wear the uniform yes, but there's a point when you shouldn't fall back onto your jrotc stuff, Im sure Armysc can back me on this one, but when you put on the "Real Deal". You should not mix jrotc "Crap" with Army Stuff, wear the approate stuff, and follow uniform standards, not, try and look cool.

Thank you. I was in no way of offending you friend. I make SURE all of the cadets in my unit don't do any of that. I have had people thank me for serving, I shake there hand and say "I am just a Cadet but I do hope that I can serve you" If I ever caught a Cadet trying to get a military discount(unless they are in the military). I will take them out back and show them what the streets taught me. I hate people who fake being in the military. I know this is weird to here froma Cadet but I have busted actual posers. Me and my recruiter where in Super Wal-Mart buying food for my unit's award cereamony and we walked into the chip aisle and there was a guy standing there in Marine Dress Blues so(my recruiter being a Marine and me a Marine Hopeful) got to thank him for his service. He turns around and he has a Bronze Star with "V" device, two purple hearts(with oak leaf not gold star) CAB,PUC,NUC,Iraq Campaign medal,Afghanistan Campaign medal,GWOR,GWOTE, Commedation with "V" device Naval and Marine Corps parachute insignia, three service stripes and Staff Sergeant rank. So we look at each other knowing this guy is a poser. So we ask him Marine Knowledge questions:He knows them.
Then we ask him what his MOS is:He say's 0321(force recon)(WHAT EVERY MARINE POSER SAYS)
We ask him about his Awards:Earned them in Iraq and Afghanistan(remeber my recruit has been both places)
We ask him about his Gold Jump wings: He says that is what they gave him at Airborne school(THEY ONLY ISSUE BASIC WINGS, YOU HAVE TO HAVE A JUMP BILLET TO HAVE GOLD WINGS)
This is where we got him
We ask him his Platoon number:He says he can't remeber
We ask him his Drill Instructors:He can't remeber
My recruiter gos crazy he cusses this guy out for impersonating a decorated US Marine. He then takes the guy to the bathroom strips him of this "Dress Blues" and calls the police. I do not know what happened after that he hasn't told me yet. He was so mad. The NCOIC made him take a week off.

I do believe both Ft. Gordon and Ft. Benning are in the south so your southern theory doesn't work. As for taking other cadets out back and "teaching them what the streets taught you" you could kiss your Oorah, Gung-ho-force recon-drill instructor-recruiter "hopefull" career goodbye because the streets must not have taught you, but that is assault. Don't think the Corp looks too highly on that, but then again, who am I to judge. I just want to cure cancer, stop world hunger, and win the lottery.

I do believe both Ft. Gordon and Ft. Benning are in the south
I will confirm that. It's about a 4 hour drive from Augusta, GA, to Columbus, GA.

You know there is a real nice dentist in Columbus, he is so good, he doesn't even give you pain meds when he shatters your wisdom teeth and yanks them out. Highlight of my life.... sorry flash back...

I remember that weekend (my wisdom teeth getting pulled)... I remember getting in the chair, then the next thing I know it I'm getting out of my roommate's car at the barracks wondering how I got there. Mouth was so numb you could've shot it and I wouldn't of felt it. Pain meds, plenty of those.
Oh, and I'm NOT looking forward to my next drive to Benning... I thought I was done with that place after my 32 day vacation there last summer...

Yea, I have no problem never going back to Benning, but I know I will have to because the Guard is now sending its Soldiers to AA school there instead of Campbell.
Also, your lucky, I got to 30th AG and got to medical, they said my Wisdoms needed yanked and in a hurry, Next day, im in Columbus with the Dentist, cracking my teeth, all they gave me was the mask to numb my mouth, but I still felt and heard him cracking my teeth and pulling them out, was sent back to AG, got a day of rest, and put on profile for a week, fun stuff, getting to walk during shark pit was fun though. :D

Also, for the record, thats the last time I let some one tell me the Army will cover my medical bill for free.

Actually, they where very happy to have some one from JROTC. They like to have cadets to help teach people different things.
