I was listening to the radio going to work, and they reported the word "Hairyeyeball" has now been included in the new edition of the Oxford Dictionary.

Oh, great - how am I going to fit that on my campaign posters? Thanks for the info, though.

For those not following the 'old' forum in its final days, the announcement was made that I am challenging the two liberal incumbents from my district for a seat in the Arizona House of Representatives. The challenge is being mounted without an 'organization' - I'm my own campaign manager, fundraiser, etic., and with a budget of under $1000 - most of which has already been spent.

On the positive side, I pulled a few thousand votes in the Primary, and will definitely be on the ballot in November, and came off well in the all-candidate debate sponsored by the AZ 'clean elections' commission (video available through their website) as the only candidate without canned responses (as in 'prepared notes'). I've been endorsed by a sitting State Senator and the Speaker of the Arizona House, and have been promised an 'A' rating by the NRA (the highest possible for a non-incumbent).

Congratulations "Hairy", I hope you win it in November buddy. Although I am a North Carolinian it is still great to see elections being run and candidates nominated as our Founding Fathers had envisioned. Best of luck to you and your campaign my friend...

One question. Is that Solberg feller still breathing?

Thought it best to let him continue wasting atmosphere - his strident ranting provides the only comic relief in the race. Besides, there will come a strategic moment when pointing out his hypocrisy - those campaign signs made of plastic (a product of the imported petroleum he rails against) he's saturated the area with - is going to to chop him off at the knees.
