Just an FYI, but members of the 111th Congress have (re)introduced legislation to Repeal of the 16th Amendment (HJ Res 16) (http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=hj111-16) as well as to impliment (HR25) The FairTax (http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h111-25).

I am happy to see them both introduced. However, prior to starting the lovefest, might I suggest that one carfeully read the text of each of these pieces of legislation. Then, if you agree, contact your congress critters (all three) and encourage them to vote appropriately.

This reminds me of something I read in John Kenneth Galbraith's book "Money" published in 1975:

...where taxes were concerned, the colonists were exceptionally obdurate; they were opposed to taxation without representation, as greatly remarked, and they were also, a less celibrated quality, opposed to taxation with representation.

Yep, you are all still opposed to taxation even after more than two hundred years. That sure is obdurate. Professor Galbraith really understood the American people, Eh?
